Angelina Jolie's Photos Up for Ransom during Best Buy Repair

Another case of privacy issues at Best Buy.

Back in June/July earlier this year, Angelina Jolie's Brother (James Haven) had taken a trip to Africa to see his sister (source). When he came back to the states, he brought his camera in to Best Buy for repairs.

Best Buy doesn't actually fix cameras, but contracts Precision Camera for the repair work. When the camera was sent to Precision, the technician there recognized the photographs and he stole the memory stick with the data still on it. Now, it really isn't all that uncommon for cameras to be "missing" accessories after a repair at Precision - Best Buy will generally replace the missing accessories if they were noted during the check-in process.

Where this guy went wrong is that he actually called up a number of magazines companies and offered the photos up to the highest bidder! Fortunately for Jolie, the magazine companies knew better than to buy the photos from this shady guy.
